Breakfast & Lunch

Room service for breakfast is usually the best bet, but they also have a buffet and á la carte menu at the Pool Terrace.  Coffee is set up in the Library at the Main Club, as well.

The Beach Stand is open for lunch every day from noon to 2:30 p.m. The only dress code is a coverup and flip flops.  They don’t take reservations, so feel free to go when you’re hungry.  If you are at the pool you can order lunch at your lounge chair from one of the attendants. If you prefer something more formal, the Pool Terrace serves lunch, but note that you can’t wear bathing suits.

The Ice Cream Parlor is a fun spot for dessert.

Snacks

When you get your room reservation confirmation, you will also receive a list of items they can stock in your minibar.  If you want a wider variety of snacks and drinks for your room, there is a great market attached to the Captain's Table in the Lyford Marina. You can take a golf cart or Bell Desk ride there because it is about a mile from the Main Clubhouse.  You can get fresh fruit, chips, dips, cereal, wine, alcohol, sodas, etc. They also have any toiletries or over the counter medicine you might need.

Dinner Options

The following are some of our favorite local restaurants.  Any would be a great option for dinner on Thursday night after Welcome Cocktails.

These restaurants are accessible via golf cart or the Bell Desk:

The Yacht Club is one of the restaurants at the Club and is on the water at the Marina.  The dinner is great and it’s also nice to have drinks there too. You can make reservations when you arrive. They do require a jacket.

The Captain’s Table is a casual option at the Marina (flip-flops and shorts).  The food’s good and they usually have live music. They are also open for breakfast and have a great breakfast sandwich.

Island Brothers is a new restaurant just outside the gates.  The reviews are pretty fantastic and their menu is French with a focus on local ingredients.  They are also open for breakfast.

Mahogany House is outside the gates and up the hill from Lyford. This is one of our go-tos for comfort food such as pastas and wood fired pizza.

Shima is an Asian fusion restaurant on the top of Island House, a boutique hotel just past Mahogany House (also part of Island House but not in the hotel).  The food is delicious and they have great drinks.

***

The Baha Mar resort just opened last year, and it has a number of great restaurants.  It’s about a 25-minute cab ride from the Main Club, and it also has a nice casino.  We’ve had a lot of fun there.  Our favorite restaurant there is Shuang Ba, which is upscale Chinese. It really is worth the trip to have Chinese in the Bahamas.  We also like Katsuya, a sushi and Japanese restaurant.  The vibe there is more club-like, but the food is good.
